SO... here's the question:
"What is the purpose of education?"
Twitter user HobFrightful suggests this answer https://twitter.com/HobFrightful/status/1604058356414562305 "Education is a fundamental human right that expands distant horizons, instils the joy of learning, and advanced humanity in leaps and bounds. How many Einsteins or Jonas Salks have you condemned to a life of drudgery satisfying menial 'industry demands'?"
If you're the US Secretary of Education, howevere, the answer seems to be along the lines of:
Education exists to create an indebted class of people who are tailored to the needs of corporations who wish to indenture them into a life of serfdom.
Here are his own words: https://twitter.com/SecCardona/status/1603831119962570771 "Every student should have access to an education that aligns with industry demands and evolves to meet the demands of tomorrow’s global workforce."
Twitter user CrimsonEsquire shared this observation: https://twitter.com/CrimsonEsquire/status/1603972730449272835 "It's actually kind of gross to think that our entire purpose is to fit into labor and toil our lives away for people who own things instead of working themselves. Human beings have value that isn't about producing profit."
It frightens me to see how open the overlords of society are becoming about seeing human beings as nothing more than "human capital stock". It's always been evident that they see us that way, but they now have such disdain for us that they'll come right out and say it to our faces: "You exist to work for us. Everything you do in life should be servicing that goal."
